Abstract The article demonstrates an action research approach for constructing Transformative Sustainability Pedagogy (TSP) to empower teachers a sustainable future. starting point the TSP was Education Gross National Happiness (GNH) teacher project in Bhutan (2010–2013) – collaboration between author, co-researcher and Royal Council. Two Leadership Training Courses (LTC) were developed from seven schools based on critical/transformative pedagogy. aim of courses carry out infuse their with GNH principles practices. concluded 2013, results showed that LTC transformative pedagogy had successfully empowered act promote schools. Nine years on, author re-analyzed data identify empowering pedagogical construct grounded ecological values.
